I am living in Orlando, Florida. I was born in Ontario, Canada and raise there in Canada. My family is an Indian- Canadian-American. I am the older daughter in my family member. I have one and one youngest siblings. I don’t have any in my whole family who are deaf blind or deaf or blind. I am only one who having a deaf blind. My family’s religion is Hinduism.
I have an Usher Syndrome type 1 and profoundly deaf; I have a vision impaired. I do wearing a cochlear implant. I also have a coloring blind. I normally have to use closing interpreter, closing to board and everything that I cannot see well. It is only thing is different that I can see distance of shapes like taller building, airplane, stars, vehicles and other distances shapes.
My hobbies are I really enjoying reading a lot of books expect romantic novels and fictions novels. My major top favorite books are Harry Potter books. I do love to read Nicholas Sparks, Debbie Comber, Lurlene McDaniels, and etc. I also am enjoying watching many Indian movies and non-Indian movies. I do love to draw many pictures for my hobby. I love to travel around the world and USA. I have been attention some of the countries in the world such as Canada, India, Uganda, Bahamas and few. I like to visit around states in USA.
I was member of Deaf Blind Youth Adults in Action DBYAA to Washington DC for a special meeting with legislative to help deaf blind to improve their lives to America Also good news my group and I had met President Obama. I was so super, super excited and super happy to met famous President Obama in June 2009.
I went to Uganda Africa for Helen Keller World conference HKWC to help deaf blind children and Adults. I went with Emily Snell to Uganda Africa; she was my SSP. We both had great time.
We went to Uganda for HKWC for Right for women; we also went visited both schools for the deaf to children who are deaf blind.
I was a student at Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind from 1999 to 2005. In February 5, 2005, I was one of the members for FSDB Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, Florida along with 150 FSDB students and famous singer, Alicia Keys. We were singing and sign sing to honor one of the famous blind musicians, Charles Ray. We saw many famous people there too especially we saw Actor, Will Smith, President Bill Clinton, and more famous people.
